# Party

Members of your Quick party, their roles and the party name.

`party()` shows your Quick party: its members, their roles and the party name. Access is read-only. Scripts of party members cannot exchange messages yet.

```java
if (party().inParty()) {
    for (PartyMember member : party().members()) {
        chat(member.login() + ": " + member.role());
    }
}
```

| Method          | Type                | Description                                       |
| --------------- | ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| `connected()`   | `boolean`           | whether there is a connection to the Quick server |
| `inParty()`     | `boolean`           | whether the player is in a party                  |
| `name()`        | `String`            | party name                                        |
| `members()`     | `List<PartyMember>` | all members, including the player                 |
| `member(login)` | `PartyMember`       | a member by login, or `null`                      |

`PartyMember` has three methods: `login()` returns the Quick login, `name()` the in-game nickname, and `role()` the role in the party.

Without a connection to the Quick server everything is empty. Party members and friends are different things: friends are checked with `entity.friend()`, see [Entities](/en/game/entities.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.quickclient.cc/en/extras/party.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
